PHP/MySQL Programmer

We are seeking an experienced PHP developer for full time position with benefits and competitive salary to work on database-backed Web sites and Web-based applications.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing browser-based applications using both proprietary and open source tools
• Full-life cycle (design, development, quality assurance, implementation and support) involvement in assigned projects
• Participating in external and internal project meetings and contributing exciting, creative ideas as possible solutions for project strategy and architecture.
• Maintaining technical documentation on development and support projects
• Providing end-user technical support for developed software
• Consulting with other team members with respect to cost and time estimations, as well as, assisting with parts of the proposal writing and budgeting process to maintain technical accuracy and feasibility.
• Participating in the management of a master code library. Programmer should use best judgment to see that programmed code is written with reusability in mind. Code and generic scripts for various tasks and functions judged to be reusable should be filed in said library appropriately, along with public domain examples acquired from various sources.
• Assisting in the evaluating, recommending, setting-up and maintaining all current and future computer systems, workstations, and software applications needed to execute internal and external projects.
• Assisting with the maintenance of a routine backup plan for all internal and client data.
• Evaluating, selecting and using data-sources and development tools that will remain industry standard to the best of their knowledge.

Required skills:

• Expert knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Expert knowledge of database design and deployment for dynamic DB driven sites using MySQL (Microsoft SQL, Oracle or other ODBC compliant databases are a plus)
• Extremely proficient with Apache/Linux, IIS
• Strong understanding of HTML design capabilities and constraints of various platforms and browsers
• Development experience in both Windows and Mac environments
• Ability to estimate, prioritize and manage multiple projects in deadline-driven environment
• Expert problem solving a must

Experience and Education:

• This position requires a BA/BS in computer Sciences or related field (preferred) or 6+ years of full-time experience
• 3-5 years of programming with PHP and MySQL in a disciplined software development environment
• Zend PHP Certification a major plus (A successful candidate will need to complete certification within the first 3 months of employment.)
