Spreading Good Design Beyond the Web
by George DeMet
Right before the holidays, our good friends at Chicago design agency Rogue Element stopped by our office to drop off a few copies of the October 2009 issue of HOW magazine. It turns that out a print piece they had designed for us as a moving announcement/party invitation back in 2008 received a merit award in the publication's self-promotion design annual.

Palantir is no stranger to winning awards for our interactive design and development work, but being recognized for a print piece that we had commissioned was a pleasant surprise. We've always believed that good design is an essential part of any solution, regardless of the medium in which it appears, and we've always tried to make sure that any print-based promotional pieces that we're responsible for meet the same standards of quality as the Web sites and interactive applications that we develop.
Our user experience team will be blogging more in the coming weeks and months about the importance of design as it applies to Web solutions, as well some of the techniques that we've used for various projects, both on our own and in collaboration with creative partners. Stay tuned!
